I would suggest getting her to the town's fountain then. The seashore is most likely too far from your location, and there are rather powerful monsters in there.

Better cold than the creature in the sea. It's larger than the middle of the city and eats anything that ventures into the water. I doubt you could get past the lobstrosities while carrying a mermaid anyways.
