-n earthquake? What's...

[There's seconds of silence before the communicator picks up the rapidly growing sound of a roar. The sound suddenly begins to sound warped and distorted by the second, disappearing altogether as (what some may recognize) the sound of a Corridor being summoned overtakes the speaker.

Then there's coughing, and several other faint distortions in the communicator when sound finally returns. Several moments of silence pass, and then the post crackles into static.]



[ooc: as cleared here and here. Chez Nobody's been destroyed, so anyone around the building or nearby have free reign to report feeling something like an earthquake or something.]

[Riqis has seen the building collapse from his rooftop perch and....bro, he's scurrying over there fast as he can, to look for you.]

Roxas!

[He's audible now, calling out as scrambling haphazardly over the rubble of the fallen-in hotel, feeling...a startled and sinking sadness for it. Roxas had always talked about fixing the place up a little, and...well now that was all but impossible.

He keeps an eye on the northern horizon, in case the flurry of aerial attacks made their way back across the river. A power strong enough to take down a whole building? Riqis watches warily a moment, then resumes his search.]

Hey Rox- I'm over here!

[The dust still hasn't settled, and there's a few roaming demons nearby too, an almost bluish tint to their grey decaying skin, with the cold, that seem to have wandered out to inspect the damage as well.

The replica startles when he spots them, ducks sharp into the shadows to change the course of his path to avoid them, and hurries anxiously in his scope of the block's perimeter, looking for his friend.]

[Roxas can hear Riqis yelling, and he's quick to go looking for his friend, unsure of where he is. He passes by the rubble twice, and it only takes a few seconds for him to realize who's come snooping around the site. He quickly takes off to the next building, shooting up the wall and onto the roof. He looks for Riqis again.]

Riqis? Hey, Riqis!

[His head spins, he looks up toward the rooftops, and shakes himself briskly with the chill before grappling his way determinedly up a fire escape, the sounds of shifting stone enough to keep the attentions of the monsters off. He glances over his shoulder worriedly at the place where Chez Nobody's kitchen used to be.

By the time he arrives up next to Roxas, he looks winded and alert with anxiety, his hair powdered a deeper grey from the dust.]

You...You okay? I came fast as I could...Claire's getting the Task Force down here too...probably. Nothing else looks like its gonna fall...

[He finally just shakes his head and claps both hands to Roxas' shoulders, leaning in almost forehead to forehead with bracing concern.]

...I'm sorry. It was a good place.

[He has the two rabbits under his arms, one much larger than the other, both looking like they could use a little more nourishment than he's been able to give them. He sighs and looks at Riqis, feeling a little safer beside him.]

It's okay. The second floor collapsed early last year...so it was only a matter of time.

...Why is she calling the Task Force down? No one's hurt.

[He tries to joke weakly, watching the rabbits squirm, scoffing a wary smile. Riqis makes a face, when Roxas sounds resigned about the collapse]

If you knew it was only a matter of time, why were you staying there, you dummy!

Come live with me. Keep my sheets from freezing till my shift's over. Or move back into The Lux.

...I don't know. 'Cause it's an emergency? And....'cause those two and their fight's gotta be stopped, I guess.

Hey, don't call them that. She's heavy. [One looks about ready to drop off, but the male is fidgeting and kicking at his side.]

I meant before something else happened, geez.

[He doesn't look keen on either of those ideas, but has a distant look in his eye as he gazes past Riqis and to the rubble. With a sigh, he hoists the rabbits up a little more and starts walking with him.]

I guess.

[He holds his arms out in offering.]

We'll go back when it's light out, tomorrow, see if we can't dig out your stuff. In the meantime, you can have Axel's coat back, if you want.

[Riqis fumbles and fights with the thing in his arms, eventually managing to bundle it halfway-stilled by hugging it firmly against his sweatshirt.]

Strong rabbits, huh?

[He laughs, breath brisk against the cold, uncomfortable as he glances sideways at Roxas.]

Maim you? Hnh. I don't know about that...it's not like anyone made you turn it in for quitting, after all.

[He nods, half-smiling, but he soon loses just that as he walks with Riqis.]

I...should tell you something. In private. And you can't tell anyone. Not Namine, not Terra, not Zelda, no one. This is between you and me and no one else.

[He glances around...in private, huh? Too private for even a quiet street? He watches his friend uncertainly, frowning. There aren't many things he'd keep secret from Zelda. But he nods, uncertain.]

[He drags Riqis to the chicken shed to drop off the rabbits, stopping in there to gather his thoughts. He dusts off his coat.]

...I know you'll want to tell other people. But please, you can't. But I need you to know, in case something happens. I don't want someone else to hate me.
