...No. I understand why you would be angry. That's something he should have told you. But, it can be... hard, sometimes, to tell someone something that you think might upset them, even if you think they should know. It may have been that it was just difficult for him to tell you. [...Or maybe he had a different reason, but this aspect, at least, she knew all too well.] He did say that his life before 'wasn't worth talking about'.

His life wasn't worth talking about, and yet he had this great friend who everyone knows, looks like me, and has a heart. Yeah, that doesn't sound nice at all.

If you were him, would you have wanted to tell you? You already weren't sure of yourself. If he'd told you that there was someone else that looked exactly like you that he knew years ago, what would you have thought? Would it have made you feel better?

...That's not all there is to a life. There could have been other things that made him want to put it all behind him.

I would have preferred to know. Do you know how many secrets people have kept from me all my life? Do you know how much that hurts? I'm done being lied to. At least I could have known who he was.

I wouldn't want to be hurt at all, but if it comes down to lying to me or not, I'd rather the truth be told. Lies only make things worse.
